
![]() Master Timothy R. Bell began his Taekwondo career on October 3, 1979 in Lubbock, Texas under the instruction of John Chu's Southern Association of Moo-Duk-Kwon Taekwondo. He studied continuously to the rank of second degree black belt in that same organization. In August of 1986, Master Bell began training under Grandmaster Won Chik Park of Won Park Institute in Fort Worth, Texas. At this time, Master Bell also became a branch school owner and instructor. In 1990, Master Bell enlisted in the U.S. Army and moved to Colorado Springs. He began training under the U.S. 1988 Olympic coach Sang Lee. After honorably completing military service, Master Bell met and married Laura Scarpa. In 1993, Master Bell returned to Fort Worth to become the business manager of Won Park Institute under Grandmaster Won Chik Park. Having returned to Colorado Springs to be closer to family, Master and Mrs. Bell opened Modern Taekwondo Centers at Peterson Air Force Base in April of 1996. MTC grew until finally opening a full-time studio at Powers and Galley in Southeastern Colorado Springs that remains in operation. Master Bell is a sixth degree black belt master instructor with 29 years of experience. Mrs. Bell is a third degree black belt with 14 years experience, soon to become a fourth degree black belt junior master instructor. Together, Master and Mrs. Bell teach the Martial Art of Taekwondo to children and adults using positive reinforcement, encouraging self-discipline, and growth of body, mind, and spirit in a supportive family atmosphere.
